Dear Members & Friends

Global warming? Not this year! This winter reminds me of winters growing up as a kid in Orchard City. You could go ice skating any day from Halloween thru Valentines day at Davis’s pond. Reports of 4-5 feet of snow are coming in from Gunnison to Aspen, and boy, has it been cccccccccccoooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllddddddddddd! But guess what, there has only been 1-2” on the ground here in Delta, making the bird hunting fabulous for those hearty enough to get out. So come on down, the hunting is excellent, and once it warms up, it will be a muddy mess.

Reminders: February is always minor month with a ten percent discount on all birds and guiding fees when a member of your party is 18 years of age or younger.

To get 5 birds instead of 4, annual dues of $125 are due before April 1st.

Waterfowl: No waterfowl hunters in 2008 so far. However, the last two weeks of the season has been the best goose hunting in past years.

Policy change: Guests will be charged the same as members as long as they are accompanied by a member.

Mike Utt has harvested 29 ducks so far. Austin Hofer with lady friend Brooke

Upland:With the last shipment of birds arriving on Jan. 24th, we should have plenty of birds to hunt until March 30th. We will be having a European Style hunt on March 30th to release all leftover birds. So call to reserve that day, for you and your friends.

Jesse & Jacob Stone, Randy Watts & member Steve Stone
harvested 16 pheasants, a chukar & a hun on 1-6-08.
Member Steve Yates, brought nephew
Richy & brother Scott for a hunt on 1-19-08

Minor Month: February is always minor month here at Uncompahgre Hunt Club. When anyone brings a guest under the age of 18, we will take off 10% of bill.

We have been open for almost 5 months & some members have yet to hunt their dues birds. So come on over as there are only a little more than 2 months left on this hunting season.

Hope to see you soon.
